THE HARE AND HOUNDS, HINDLEY
This Week's Cask Ales
This week's cask ales are featured below. Once a barrel is finished a new ale will replace it.
We will try to keep this page updated on a weekly basis. However, all our ales are very popular so the turn around can be quite fast. If the barrel is finished, there may be another beer on tap
This week, Dave is featuring ales from Mallinsons and Abbeydale.
Malinson's Brewery, Huddersfield
Hop in the City (3.8%)
Straw blonde in colour with soft summer fruit aromas from late hopping with Waimea and Citra. Combined early use of Chinook, Waimea and Bouclier hops gives a nicely balanced sessionable bitterness and fruity finish. Top hops!
Amarillo (4.1%)
A single hopped beer, using Amarillo hops from the USA. This lovely ale is very pale gold with a light orange citrus nose, bitter orange hop taste and long bitter, dry-ish finish. A lovely beer!
Centenial (3.9%)
A single hopped beer, brewed only using Centennial hops from the USA. Centennial remains one of our favourite hops and this pale blonde ale showcases it perfectly, with a a zesty sherbet lemon hop nose, bitter citrus hop taste and long dryish finish.
BSA Northern Soul (3.8%)
Another wonderful ale created by brewer Nick under his own brand called "Briggs Signature Ales". This is BSA's original pale ale, dazzling gold in colour, with fresh aromas of citrus fruits. Delisciously balanced due to a mixed malt bill and an abundance of american hops which gives a moreish flavour and bitterness. Everything you would want from a pale ale!
Abbeydale Brewery, Sheffield
Moonshine (4.3%)
A multi award winning Sheffield icon since 1996. Hopped with Willamette, Delta, Citra, Chinook & Centennial – this is a beautifully well balanced pale. A distinctive floral aroma, a smooth body & a mellow, predominantly citrus taste, with grapefruit & lemons to the fore..
Deception (4.1%)
A big favourite at the Hare and Hounds. Light and refreshing NZ pale, showcasing the incredible Nelson Sauvin hops famed for delicious citrus flavours with hints of gooseberry and white grape. Primarily hopped with Nelson, balanced by the addition of other hops including Amarillo, Chinook, Galaxy and Columbus giving a crisp bitter finish.
Coming soon
These lovely beers are in the cellar so will be on soon:
We always try to have a dark ale on at the Hare and Hounds!
However, there's less demand for dark beers and stouts in the summer..
We'll let you know when we have local stouts back on the handpumps again in the autumn.
Until then, you can always enjoy a pint of keg draught Guinness
